High-Performance Ultrafiltration

Litree hollow fibre UF membranes provide an effective physical barrier for the removal of suspended solids, fine silt, turbidity, bacteria and viruses from water. The membrane technology is also effective against chlorine-resistant microorganisms such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia, making it suitable for applications requiring high-quality treated water.

The UF membrane process operates at relatively low transmembrane pressures while maintaining high filtration productivity. This provides an efficient treatment process with consistent permeate quality and reduced energy requirements.

Ultrafiltration is increasingly used as an advanced pretreatment technology for Reverse Osmosis systems. Litree UF membranes can provide consistent and low-turbidity feedwater to downstream RO membranes, helping to protect the RO system from suspended solids and colloidal fouling.

This makes Litree UF technology suitable for large-scale seawater desalination, industrial water treatment and water reclamation projects.

Proven Large-Scale Treatment Technology

Litree ultrafiltration membrane technology has been applied successfully in large-scale water treatment projects involving different types of feedwater, including surface water, groundwater and treated wastewater.

The technology can be considered for challenging feedwater conditions with suspended solids concentrations of approximately 100–200 mg/L, subject to appropriate pretreatment, membrane selection and system design.
